Suzanne Perlman: Book Launch & In Conversation

Suzanne Perlman: Book Launch & In Conversation

EVENT

Tuesday 3 November, 6:30–8pm

In celebration of the launch of Skira’s new monograph on Suzanne Perlman (1922–2020), we are pleased to host a Book Launch & In Conversation on Tuesday 3 November at 6:30pm.

Born in Hungary, Perlman fled Europe during the Second World War and settled in Curaçao, where she lived and painted for almost fifty years. Her career spanned continents, from her expressive portraits and landscapes of the Caribbean to her explorations of abstraction in New York and paintings of London.

Matthew Perlman, Director of the Suzanne Perlman Estate and the artist’s grandson, will be joined in conversation by writer and critic Jennifer Higgie and Sanne de Rooij, curator of Perlman’s recent exhibition at Singer Laren and now curator at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Together, they will explore her life, artistic vision and legacy, alongside the story of bringing her career together in this new publication.

The talk will begin at 7pm, followed by a short Q&A. The event has limited capacity, and tickets are essential. It will be seated, though some standing may be required. Kindly inform the gallery if you have any access needs. RSVP for free tickets here.
