Reginald Sylvester II: Limbo Museum Residency

Reginald Sylvester II will be the first artist-in-residence at the Limbo Museum in Accra, in partnership with Gallery 1957. Sylvester II will be working from Gallery 1957’s studio space during his five week tenure. Focusing on the possibilities of ‘ruin as practice’ and diasporic exchange, Sylvester II will establish intimacies with the local built environment as he contemplates the intersections between ecological restoration and sculpture.
The residency will culminate in a site-specific exhibition at the Limbo Museum as curated by Diallo Simon-Ponte for Accra Cultural Week.
Accra Cultural Week is hosted by Gallery 1957 from 30 October to 5 November.
